DONATED TO CHARITY - 29.5CMS H X 41.8CMS W - LOST -Spirit, the cheetah is sad - he sits reflecting on the days not so long ago when he and his siblings used to roam the land at will. Now he is one of the ever decreasing survivors, his species being 'promoted' fromvulnerable to endangered. There is a very real danger he, and many other animals like him, will be lost in the sands of time... It's not too late to change things if we act now. Inspired by a photo from Manohar Manu, Spirit is created in Watercolour in shades of Blue, White, Black and Magenta
SOLD - 41.8H x 29.5Wcms. Hope - This painting symbolises hope in the darkness of the days we have known since Covid appeared in our lives. It creates a sense of urgency - 'do it now, don't waste the day, joie de vivre,' to challenge us to enjoy each moment. Blossoms still bloom, their riot of vivid colours dazzling our senses and uplifting our spirits - something we all need. Created in Watercolour on Yupo paper in Hot Pink, Yellow, Red, Black and Orange
SOLD - 41.8cms H x 29.5cms W - 'Joy' - This painting was created to reflect the simple joy of living - the bright, exuberant colours help make us glad to be alive, their flowing shapes reminiscent of the way our life flows on through the years, its different twists and turns creating more experiences and opportunities. 'Joy' was created in Watercolour on Yupo paper in shades of Hot Pink, Magenta, Red, Orange, Black
SOLD - 47cms W x 65cms H - Hidden Depths -This piece came about from experimenting with watercolour ink and paint on Yupo paper. When you look at it, initially you see 3 large blossoms but, as you look closer, you see they are filled with many layers of blossoms, each vying for its own space.. To me, these represent the many facets of our personalities - some hidden deeply, some rising to the surface - all different but all part of the whole
SOLD -M41.8cmsW x 29.5cms H Meet Nahla, Swahili for Queen - with her golden coat, she is every inch the Queen her name implies. Nahla was created in Watercolour, with metallic gold watercolur used on her coat, and is on 300 gsm paper. She was inspired by a photo from Ahmad Omari
SOLD - 29.5cmsW x 41.8cms H -Cabdary the snow leopard cub sleeps the sleep of the innocent. He has no idea of the perils faced by his species - the fact that they are endangered, possibly soon to become extinct. Let him slumber whilst he may, because he will face reality all too soon if we don't do something to help him and his species. Created in Watercolour and Gouache, Cabdary was inspired by a photo from Maurits Bausenhart and is on 300 gsm paper
SOLD - 41.8cms W x 29.5cms H - Loki the wolf is definitely NOT a morning person. How do I know? Just look at those teeth and the breath blasting out towards you as he voices his opinion on early rising. He is definitely not a happy camper, and you would be foolish or foolhardy to face that amount of ferocity first thing in the morning. Inspired by a photo from Phillip Pilz
SOLD - 29.5cmsW x 41.8cms H - Unconditional Love - Chester waits patiently for his owner to return. His eyes shine with the unconditional love which will keep him in that one spot for hours if need be. The bond between dog and owner sometimes surpasses all reason - how many stories have you heard of a dog alerting rescuers when their owner has had an accident, 'knowing' their owner was ill, or saving someone from drowning. Endless stories with one common strand - unconditional love. Created in Watercolour and Gouache on 300gsm paper, Chester was inspired by a photo from Celine Sayuri Tagami
DONATED 29.5cms W x 41.8cms H - Does My Butt Look Big in This? Like many of us, Winston suffers from anxiety and insecurity about his body image, and whether or not he'll fit in with his peers, hence the question. Lack of self confidence and negative self talk plague our society, and can lead to depression. So, if you know someone having the same problems as Winston, lend an ear, be a friend and, most mportantly, just be there. Luckily Winston has a loving owner and some good doggy pals. Inspired by a photo from Karsten Wienegart
SOLD - 29.5cms H x 41.8cms W - 'Turbulence' - Life throws us curveballs, times are turbulent, we can't always see our way clearly. What do you do? Stay true to yourself, trust your own instincts, don't run with the herd. Don't be afraid to be different - just be you - you're more than enough, and you have got this. Inspired by a photo from Etienne Steenkamp, 'Turbulence' is created in Watercolour on 300gsm paper in shades of Black, White, Red, Orange, Yellow, Grey
DONATED TO CHARITY - 29.5cms W x 41.8cms H - frozen??? - Meet Elsa ( think Disney's Frozen and you'll understand why my 4 yogranddaughter insisted on this name). With those icy blue eyes, this is one Artic fox who doesn't seem worried by the cold and snow. I, on the other hand, freeze. Photo inspiration from an unknown photographer. Elsa was created in Watercolour in shades of Umber, Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Blue, Black, Grey and White
SOLD - 41.8cms W x 29.5cms W - 'What The? ' You may recall Winston having body image issues in my previous painting (Does my Butt Look Big in This?) One look at his face will tell you what he thinks of the change to his diet. Carrots are not on his list of preferred food, and dieting is probably not the best way to solve his body image issues. Building up his self confidence with lots of reassurance, positive encouragement, and a whole heap of love are more likely to help fix the problem. NB Apparently this also works for non-canines with body image issues. Thanks to Kirsten Winegeart for her adorable photo inspiration. Winston was created with love in Watercolour in shades of Red, White, Green, Black, Grey and Yellow.
SOLD - 29.5cms W x 41.8cms H - 'Perfect Imperfection' - A reflection on society's pursuit of perfection in all things. The discovery of a decaying leaf, still beautiful, and an apparent disaster which turned into a success ,, led to this painting which celebrates the perfect imperfection of each one of us, and the amazing results which cab be achieved if we don't give up at the first set back. 'Perfect Imperfection' - During a bushwalk with my 4 yo granddaughter, we discovered an amazing leaf, almost perfect with its delicate tracery of veins. Inspired, I created a spider web of filigree lines in metallic paint to simulate the veins of the leaf. All was going well until disaster struck by way of the background colour running across the metallic leaf. I thought all was lost until I rethought my original plans and created the piece you see here, where the leaf has been ravaged by nature and the elements. Still beautiful in its 'Imperfect Perfection' - perhaps even more so. It made me stop and think how in our society we often strive for perfection, not seeing the true beauty of our own 'Imperfect Perfection,' or give up when things go wrong. Maybe it's time to stop striving and celebrate being YOU in all your glorious imperfection! Created in metallic and non metallic Watercolour
SOLD 41.8cms H x 29.5cms W - Sheba is the Queen of Hearts - with her soulful brown eyes and silky tresses she steals the hearts of everyone she meets. Once stolen, she never gives them back, but she does give unconditional love in return. I think that's a fair trade, don't you? Created in Watercolour and Gouache, Sheba was inspired by a great photo from Julio Bernal, and an awareness of the bond which exists between dogs and people"
SOLD - 29.5cms H x 41.8cms W - Hi - My name's Ronnie and I'm feeling a bit down in the dumps 'cos I'm looking for a new home, and it's tough with this Covid thing. I'm fully house trained, honestly, and just want someone to love (who could resist those eyes?) Inspired by a photo from Cristina Anne Costello, Ronnie is created in Watercolour with touches of Gouache, and metallic Watercolour in shades of White, Grey, Charcoal, Black, Green and Teal
SOLD - 29.5cms H x 41.8cms W - 'Bubbles' - Can you tell how much Ashby loves bath night? His face tells the whole story - the chase round the house, capture, wriggling and finally surrendering to the inevitable - water, and all those bubbles!!! To make it worse, they're perfumed too! Oh, the indignity of it! Inspired by a great photo from Vincent van Zalinge, Ashby was created in Watercolour and Gouache in shades of Yellow, Orange, Blue, Grey, White, and Black
SOLD -'Intertwined' - Just as the stems of these blossoms wrap around and become intertwined, so our lives become intertwined with those who are strangers today and perhaps good friends in the future. How can we know what impact we have on those whose path intersects with ours? Your smile for a stranger costs nothing yet may be enough to save a life if they are suicidal, or simply brighten someone's day. How many smiles did you give away today? How many will you give away tomorrow? Be the change. Created in watercolour paint and ink on Yupo paper in Hot Pink, Red, Yellow, Orange and Black
SOLD - 29.5cms H x 41.8 cms W - 'Diversity'- An experiment with new watercolour paints led to the creation of this piece inspired by leaves found on a bushwalk with my 4 yr old granddaughter. As I worked, it occurred to me that it was in many ways a reflection of our society - so many people in the world - we're all a little different but also the same - as with the different colours of the leaves, but the same shape repeated. The granulation adds to this effect as the colours merge and blend only to separate at will. Let's celebrate our differences, whilst celebrating being part of a much bigger picture. Created in Watercolour on 300gsm paper in shades of blue, purple, pink, green , teal
SOLD - 41.8cms H x 29.5cms W - Meet Oliver - his friends call him Ollie. He can't wait to get his hair trimmed once lockdown ends - it's getting into his eyes and the curls are driving him crazy! I think they look kinda cute but then it's not my hair. What do you think? Ollie was created in Watercolour and Gouache in shades of ochre, sienna, charcoal, black, white and was based on a photo by Alberto Lignoni
SOLD - 29.5cms W x 41.8cms W - Meet Lizzie. Isn't she a cutie? She's inspired by, and named after, a movie star who was famous for her violet eyes (amongst other things!) - Elizabeth Taylor. As you can see, Lizzie likes to coordinate her outfits to match her eyes - such a gorgeous colour, don't you think? Lizzie was created in Watercolour and Gouache with pastels for the background. Thanks to Kartsen Winegeart for a great photo and @insituartroom for the framing view
Celebration - 29.5cms H x 41.8cms W - We all need a reason to celebrate these days, and I hope the bright colours in this Watercolour will lift your spirits and encourage you to find the joy in your days. For me, it's the smile of my grandchildren, the smell of new mown grass, the sun dancing through the windows or the kookaburra laughing in the gum tree outside. I hope this painting helps lift your spirits, even if briefly.
SOLD - 41.cms W x 29.4cms H - 'A Weighty Problem' - Poor Winston's in strife again. Not content with putting him on a diet, his owners have now decided he needs to work out with some weights to get into shape. He looks OK to me as he is - what do you think? Sadly we often give in to the social pressure around appearance, which can lead to loss of self confidence and self worth, depression and more. Judging by the look on Winston's face, he's not too keen to 'get physical.' He just wants to be himself. Check out the rest of Winston's journey. Created in watercolour, in red, ochre, teal, aqua, black, white on 300 gsm paper
SOLD - 41.8cms H x 29.5cmsW - 'Paloma' is created in watercolour on 300gsm paper, and is my interpretation of a photo by Ignacius Alvar Thomas, as part of a course with British artist Sarah Stokes. To me, this painting signifies freedom, letting your hair down, letting yourself go. These are things we took for granted in pre-Covid days, but value highly now. Paloma is created in shades of Black, Grey, and Red on a white background
DONATED TO CHARITY -29.5H x 41.8Wcms - 'Radiance' - a relaxing experiment with watercolour, salt, a new glass pen and a leaf from a walk in the bush with my granddaughter led to this piece . . As played with the colours, certain leaves stood out more than the others. It set me to thinking about how different we all are -some go confidently into the world, others are more timid , hesitant about their talents and abilities. I hope my granddaughter will go out confidently into the world and not be afraid to let her light shine brightly. Will you join her?"
DONATED TO CHARITY - 41.8cms H X 29.5cms W - Celebration 2 -a fitting name for this watercolour piece as I welcomed my grandson into the world. There are still so many things to be thankful for - the birth of a child, the love of a partner, a life well lived, treasured memories, good friends, the sun, the sea and the sky. This will always be the piece which made me count my blessings - I hope you have lots to count too
SOLD - 'Faded Rose' - a rose so sweet and beautiful when it first blossoms, with colours fresh and bright, gradually fades as the days pass. We also fade over time as age takes its toll yet, as the rose still retains a measure of its own sweet beauty, so too do we. The wrinkles can't hide the twinkling eyes, the grey hair can't mask the sense of humour, and age does not take away the love and compassion in our hearts. Enjoy each day for the ever changing beauty it holds.
SOLD - 41.8cms H x 29.5cms W - Winston's back in this third painting in the series, and he could be in trouble - again!Today's the day of the weigh in, and those scales won't lie. Will he have done enough of will he be back to the carrots and weight lifting? Let's hope not. Thanks to Karsten Winegeart for an inspirational photo and @insituartroom for the room display
SOLD - 41.8cms H x 29.5cms W - 'The Black Dog' - on the face of it, Ebony is just a black dog with soulful, somewhat sad eyes. Look deeper and you will see she is the symbol of depression, 'The Black Dog,' which haunts so many of us. Appropriate then that she be tinged with shades of blue and purple. Often shunned or discriminated against, sufferers often feel their illness is treated differently and struggle to discuss it because of discrimination. It can make a huge difference for someone just to be there, to listen, to not judge. Will you be the one to ask ""Are you OK?' if someone seems down or not themselves. It could make a world of difference."
SOLD 41.8cms H X 29.5cms W - Meet Amala. Staring into the sky. Amala wonders what will be the fate of her species. She's one of only approx 100 Amur leopards left in the world. Solitary at the best of times, they meet only to breed and rear their young. With fewer and fewer of them left, she and the rest of her kind may struggle to find mates and become extinct. Will you help to save her? Created in Watercolour, all artist's net proceeds will be donated to The World Wildflife Fund to help save Amala and others like her
SOLD - "The Flirt"- Metsica can resist flirting and, with those gorgeous eyelashes, who can blame her? Inspired by a photo by Maurits Bausenhart, Metsica is created in watercolour on 300 gsm paper in shades of Black, White, Grey, Sienna, Burnt Sienna and Ochre. I have long been fascinated by African wildlife, and particularly with zebras, envying them their long and luscious lashes
DONATED TO CHARITY - 29.5cms W x 41.8cms H - 'The Hunt' - I was drawn to do this painting from the moment I saw the photo by Jeremy Hyne. The eyes were the first to catch my attention, but then I realised this was Nature at its most basic. How much more natural for the fox to hunt his prey than for the fox to be hunted by the hounds and riders on horseback. What do you think? Created in Watercolour and gouache in shades of red, sienna, burnt sienna, ochre, black, white and green. Thanks to @insituartroom for the room display.
SOLD - 41.8cmsH x 29.5cmsW - The Highlander. SOLD - 41.8cms W x 29.5cms H - 'A penny For Your Thoughts Rua?' - What indeed could this fox be thinking of? Its a cold, snowy night. Thanks to the unknown photographer from Unsplash via Sarah Stokes and @insituartroom for the room display
SOLD - 41.8cms H x 29.5 cms W - Meet 'The Judge.' His piercing eyes see through to your innermost thoughts, so don't waste his time with lies. SOLD - 29.5cms W x 41.8cms H Meet Silverback - a wise old mountain gorilla. He knows how lucky he is to still be around. In 1989, there were only 689 mountain gorillas left. Now their numbers are over 1000. They are still on the critically endangered list, but we have time to save Silverback and his kind if we make the effort, because the main threat to gorillas is people!!! SOLD - 41.8cms H x 29.5cms W -'Ruffled' - Meet Piper - Not sure what's ruffled her feathers but something seems to have. Thanks to Alfred Kinneally for his inspirational photo and @insituartrrom for the room display. Frankie was created in Watercolour paint, pencil, Gouache and Gel pen, with acrylic paint used for the density of background
SOLD - 38.5cms H x 29.5cms W Stormy Weather . Giallo looks as if he's prepared for whatever the weather may throw at him, which is just as well, because it's stormy weather outside. He can stay calm in the face of what's going on because he knows he's got it covered. A little like life really - It throws us curveballs, or "storm clouds' appear on our horizon. If we're prepared and stay calm, we will usually win through til the sun shines again. Created in Watercolour, Giallo was inspired by a photo from Charles Deluvio with room display by @insituartroom INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING $65
SOLD -76cms H x 56 cms W Meet Mbada. He's an Amur leopard - one of the most endangered species in the world with only approx 100 left. SOLD - 29.5cms W x 41.8cms H -' Little Donkey - A Helping Hand.' We all need those from time to time don't we? The helping hand here is holding out nourishment for the little donkey, who's wearied from the day's work. Christmas is a time of goodwill when we hopefully reach out the hand of friendship to our fellow man. How great would it be if we did that every day, not just at Christmas. Legend tells us the little donkey did his act of kindness by carrying his heavy load to a place of shelter and safety. How would it be if we all did a random act of kindness each week and help make the world a better place? Thanks to Martin Castro for his photo which set me to thinking about the hand of friendship, and to @insituartroom for the room display

SOLD - This enchanting, detailed painting is of 'Luska' a gypsy cob mare who will steal your heart. Her beautiful blue eyes gaze seductively over her shoulder as she invites your love and attention (with possibly some hay, oats and a carrot or two thrown in). Her Gypsy blood may be where she gets her windswept locks, baby blue eyes and rather saucy attitude. 'Luska' is based on a photo of the real Luska, who is owned by Helen Jane Peppe, who kindly gives permission to artists such as myself to paint her. I hope you like her, and enjoy the looks she's bestowing on you. The room displays were by @insituartroom

SOLD - 41.8cms H x 29.5cms W Meet Willard the Woebegone Owlet. This is a detailed, original watercolour of an adorable baby owl who fell out of his nest. My art is created with love and passion, and I always give my animals a personality of their own, so they become almost real. When I first saw the photo by Ethan Gray, I knew that this baby owl had to be added to my gallery of loveable animals. Why Willard the Woebegone? Because Willard was high up in the tree, safe in his nest, until he wriggled and wriggled until he fell out. Poor baby Willard can't get back up to his nest again - I think he needs some help - don't you? Thanks to @insituartroom for the room display. Willard is created in Watercolour on 300 gsm paper NB The background is off white but due to issues transferring the photos is shading a little .
SOLD - 41.8cmsH x 29.5cms W . Tears - A River of Tears Flows Away. This is an experimental piece in the Chiaroscuro style. Created with coloured and graphite pencils, the aim of the work is to create a mood - a sensation, if you will. In this case, a sensation of sadness flowing away on the floral and ovoid shapes falling from the eyes of the subject. It signifies the release of the sadness held within, and opportunities to begin afresh. Shades of Black, Grey, Teal, Aqua, Pink, Purple, Lavender and White
SOLD - 31cms x 21 cms Nostalgia - These flowers remind me of a bygone era - days gone by when the cottage garden was full of the misty blues, pinks and lavenders of hydrangeas, wisteria, delphiniums - soft colours to melt into the heat of a Summer's day. Created in alcohol ink on Yupo paper, salt was added to create special effects in the colouring and add texture and a slight glistening to the finished artwork.
44.5W x 32.8H cms. Metamorphosis -This artwork started as an experiment creating a floral piece in alcohol ink. Not being happy with the outcome, I kept stripping back the layers and adding more, until Metamorphosis was born (so named because of the transformation between where I started and where I finished)- a galactic explosion sends fragments spinning off into space. In just the same way, the original artwork changed completely from a traditional floral to an an abstract depiction of an outer space experience. The High Gloss Finish makes it quite difficult to photograph. Created in alcohol ink on Yupo paper in shades of ultramarine, Black, Red, Crimson, Rose
41.8cms W x 29.5cms H. 'Reflections on a Winter's Lake ' This artwork was created using Watercolour and Indian ink, as an experiment to see how the two materials worked together. I used the wet on wet method, which allowed the paint and ink to flow freely to create the landscape, and added rock salt to create the special effects. I think it gives the impression of a cold Winter's Day by the lakeside. What do you think? Created using Canson Montval 300 gsm paper.in shades of blue, teal, aqua, pink, mauve
SOLD O-41.8cms H x 29.5cms W - 'Sleeping Beauty' - this artwork was inspired by a beautiful photograph of my 5yr old granddaughter Grace, surrounded by bubbles. I wanted to try and create the tranquil beauty of that moment in time and, as we live in Australia, the idea of painting her surrounded by gum blossoms emerged. We both love vibrant, hot pink, so there really was no other colour choice. Created in Watercolour pencil, paint and Gouache on 300sm Fabriano paper in shades of Hot Pink (aka Opera Pink), Black and White. Thanks to @insiituartroom for the room display
41.8cms H x 29.5cms W - 'Puppy Love.' This adorable pup is in need of some TLC. Poor Benji- he's got a bad case of puppy love! His gal just turned him down despite the beautiful flower he brought for her. He's feeling very sad right now, but I don't think it will be too long before someone falls in love with those baby blue eyes of his - what do you think? Benji was created with Love, Watercolour and Gouache, and was inspired by a great photo from Shayna Douglas. He's in shades of ochre, cream, blue, white, black and pink on 300 gsm Canson Montval paper. Thanks to @insiutartroom for the room display.

29.5 cms x29.5cms 'Heart Full of Love' The love is literally bursting out of this heart, blossoming and pushing out to spread its joy all around. Originally created for a charity, the brief was to create a heart inside a square. Created in alcohol ink on Yupo paper in shades of Magenta, Hot Pink, Ruby, Yellow, Gold, Green
SOLD -x 51cms. 'Love Flows' A Celebration of Love. This artwork draws your attention to the fact that love isn't a stationary thing - just like a river, it flows and ebbs, stronger sometimes, less forceful at other times, but always there as we change and grow together. It enriches the lives of those it touches, heart to heart, and has different tints and hues to its depth, but it is rich in all its colours. A treasure to hold, nourish and share with others. Created in alcohol ink on Yupo paper, in shades of Magenta, Hot Pink, Ruby, Pink, Blue, Teal, Aqua
SOLD -41.8cms W x 29.5cms H - Aftermath. Bushfires rage around the world, devastation in their wake - this original watercolor is my interpretation of the aftermath as the flames die down - what follows after the raging bushfire burns so fiercely, destroying everything in its path? The embers still glow and burn, smouldering away for days or even weeks - the intense heat has passed but the sparks still float in the air, ready to ignite at any time. Living in Australia, bushfires are a part of my life, and the devastation left behind - the loss of lives, homes, crops, wildlife and more - that is the true aftermath. This is an original Watercolour in shades of pink, burgundy, black, grey, yellow and purple on 300gsm Canson Montval paper
41.8cms W x 29.5cms H. Finn The Dreamer gazes at the star studded skies above him - I wonder what he's dreaming about? Luckily for him, his species isn't on the endangered list, unlike some of his cousins. So, maybe it's as simple as enjoying a beautiful night under the magical heavens, and being awed by their beauty. Bliss! Finn was inspired by a photograph from Deborah Coker, and is created in Watercolour with a touch of Gouache on 300 gsm Canson Montval paper in shades of Cadmium Yellow, Orange, Burnt Orange, Blue, Moonglow, Burnt Sienna, Black and White. Thanks to @insituartroom for their room display
SOLD - 41.8cms H x 29.5cms W - Midnight the Giraffe offers a perfect landing pad to receive Butterfly Kisses from his dainty friend. This fragile relationship could be swept away in a careless second, but Midnight welcomes the loving interaction, and so is careful to be gentle and cherish the moment. Completely different, yet sharing joy in each other's company. How wonderful if we could all do the same? Inspired by a photo from Dustin Humes, with room display by @insituartroom, Midnight was created with love and Watercolour in shades of blue, purple, yellow and aqua on 300gsm Canson Montval paper
SOLD - 41.8cms W x 29.5cms H. Tropical Sunset. This is an experimental piece, combining new and old techniques with vibrant colours. Let your imagination run wild and join me in this fantasy land. What do you think? Created in Watercolour on 300 gsm paper, there is slight damage to the reverse of the painting (see photo) which is reflected in the price (ordinarily $145.)
SOLD - 41.8cms H x 29.5cms W 'Busy Bee' - this worker bee is busy trying to pollinate as many plants as possible. He's the unsung hero who helps our crops grow, and helps us to feed people around the world. A tragedy then that bees are being decimated - between disease, destruction of habitat, and people killing bees in a hive rather than relocating them. How can we help? Plant as many 'bee friendly' plants ( such as lavender, buddleia) in your garden as you can, choose your pesticides carefully, and relocate any unwanted hives. Created in Watercolour and a touch of Gouache. Thanks to Taylor Cowling for an inspirational photo and @insituartroom for the room display.
59.5cms H x 47 cms W. Effervescence 2 was created in alcohol ink on Yupo paper. When I started this piece, I chose some of my favourite colours to work with, and began to create without a specific direction in mind. The result was an uplifting piece which, to me, represents that even on the 'bluest' of days, when you're feeling down, those little bubbles of hope and joy just insist on surfacing to lift our mood. In the beginning, you may not even notice them but, as in the painting, they become stronger, and more plentiful, until they outnumber the darker thoughts. Created during mental health awareness week, I think we have all been affected by low moods and even depression.since Covid appeared in our lives. This artwork is to remind us that there is hope on the horizon.
73cms W x 53 cms H. "Through the Looking Glass." The black swan glides elegantly across the lake as we peep through the blossoms. All the while, he stares intently at his reflection. I wonder if he's trying to see his real self? We all have so many different reflections of ourselves which we show to the world. It's hard sometimes to see which one is the real you. Created with love and imagination in watercolour on 638gsm Saunders Waterford paper. Thanks to @insituartroom for the room display
SOLD - 36.6cms W x 28cms H. A glorious sunset over the lake where vibrant shades of hot pink and purple bathe two flamingos as they wade through the shallow waters. Their silhouettes present a stark contrast to the sunset, and to the colours normally used to portray flamingos. It's often good to see things from a different perspective - don't you agree? Inspired by a photo from Santiago Lacarta, and room display by @insituartoom this artwork is created with love and Watercolour in shades of pink, hot pink, purple, blue, black and grey.
SOLD - This is a gloriously vibrant painting of a flower, half hidden, but creating a contrast with the midnight blue/black background. Magnificent Magenta is a mixed media artwork, combining a Watercolour flower and an acrylic background.. Created in a gap between more detailed artworks, this painting allowed me to express my love of colour and flowers in a more free flowing way. The use of Watercolour Grounds also added a little texture. Thanks to Angelica Feijo for ther inspirational photo and @ insituartroom for the rooms displays. 39.5cms x 28cms approx -
SOLD - 41.5cms H x 29.8 cms W. Rudolf the red Nosed Reindeer. Looks like Rudolf has already started the Christmas cheer withour Santa if the decorations on his antlers are anything to go by. Did you know there are white reindeer? I saw some in Finland and thought it only fitting that, as Rudolf is Santa's very special helper, he should be a very special colour. It looks as if it’s already a White Christmas at the North Pole- brrrr! He's ready to spread the spirit of Christmas to all the boys and girls (and the grown ups too). Have you been naughty or nice this year? Thanks to Kai Wenzel for the photo inspiration @insituartroom for the room display. Created in Watercolour and Gouache
SOLD - 41.5cms H x 29.8cms W. Oliver the Penguin's not amused! He's been posing for his portrait for hours and thought he'd be tucking into a nice fish supper by now. Poor Oliver - it's tough being a penguin moderl that's for sure, but he is a fine looking specimen, isn't he? I love penguins and have been wanting to paint one for a while . Oliver seemed a nice change from the typical Christmas penguins, particularly as he developed a cranky look whilst I was painting him (apparently not quickly enough!)Oliver was inspired by a happier looking photo from Kanjanapa Srisuwan, with room display provided by @insituartroom. and is in created in Watercolour in shades of Black, Grey, Yellow, Orange, and Red
SOLD - 65cms H x 45cms W - Blossoms in Blue - A cascade of blossoms tumbling over each other in shades of blue, ultramarine and aquamarine acrylic ink meld to give an overall impression of a multi headed blue bouquet, the flowers each similar but different . Which is your favourite I wonder? My first love is Watercolour, but this was an experiment in acrylic ink to see the difference in how the colours react. Again, they are similar but also very different. The Yupo paper does not allow for a true reproduction of the colours of the flowers which have a little more ultramarine than can be shown here, although the aquamarine is a nice foil in the background
65 cms H x 45cm W - 'The Lone Swimmer.' Almost disappearing into the horizon is the figure of a lone swimmer - or should it be a lonely swimmer - being buffeted by the waves as he makes his way further and further away from the shore. How can we know what he is thinking? Is he swimming away from his past, from the regrets of his old life being left behind on the shifting sands, or is he swimming towards new horiizons and new beginnings? We may never know his story, but we can choose whether ours will be one of hope and new horizons, or regrets for days gone by. Ultramarine and Aquarmarine acrylic ink on Yupo paper
SOLD - 65 cms H x 45cm W - 'Spikey Flowers’ - This was an experiment with acrylic ink on Yupo paper to see how it flowed in comparison with Watercolour on the Yupo. In the event, I found myself using sharp, directional brushstrokes to achieve a result I was happy with, which was not my original intentinion - often the case with artworks. As I worked, the sharpness of the petals and their edgy shapes and directional forms reminded me of the sometimes unintentional sharpness of our words, the different directions conversations take from those we’d planned originally, and the often unforseenoutcomes, as wtih this artwork. Food for thought….and mindfulness…. Thanks to @insituartroom for the room displays
SOLD - 65cms H x 45cms W - 'Stained Glass Flowers.' The vibrancy of these acrylic inks reminded me so much of the stained glass windows you see inside churches and old buildings, or even more modern building where the stained glass has a different feel - an edge - to it, as with these abstract flowers. Created on Yupo paper, this artwork is 65cms H x 45cms W and is in shades of Hot Pink, Magenta, Lime, Purple, Yellow, Orange, Flame, Black and Chilli. Full of vibrancy and passion, it aims to lift the spirits and bring joy to life - I hope you like it. Thanks to @insituartroom for the room displays.
The Inner Eye - 41.8cms H x 29.5cms W ‘The Inner Eye’ - peeping out from its hidden depths, the inner eye is the window to our souls, to our real selves. It sees beyond the ‘public face’ we don to go out into the world to meet the expectations of everyday life. It truly knows us as we are, and is our greatest strength because there are no judgements here - just love, acceptance, and a sense of peace if you are willing to look for it. Thanks to @insiturtrom for the room displays
41.8cms W x 29.5cms H - 'Aloha means welcome in Hawaiian, and to me there's no more welcome sight than a Hawaiian hibiscus. So many beautiful colours and such amazing combinations - I never get tired of them, or of the warm greeting they represent. I wanted to try and capture the almost crepe like texture in the photo inspiration by James Trenda. Did I succeed? Thanks to @insituartroom for the room displays
Agapanthus Emerging - 76cms H x 52cms W approx I have a mutitude of these beautiful flowers in my garden here in Sydney, and took a photo of one with the flowers emerging before it burst into full bloom. That was the photo which inspired this painting and, to me, it represented a birth or rebirth of something beautiful, gently entering into the world.. Though not a native Australian plant, we Aussies have laid our own claim to them, and they are lovingly referred to as 'Aggies.' The flowers are created in Watercolour, whilst the background and the dragonflies are in acrylic.with a touch of iridescent Watercolour on 638gsm Saunders Waterford paper, Thanks to @insituartroom for the room displays

SOLD - 41.8cms H x 29.5cms W. Summer’s Glory 2. Summer is drawing to a close here in Australia, and we are already seeing the change in the weather - cooler days, blossoms starting to fade and leaves to fall. These colourful blossoms will brighten our days through Autumn and Winter until Spring and Summer are with us once more. Thanks to @insituartroom for the room displays
SOLD -31.8cms W x 52 cms H. Meet Kiesha the Leopard. He's stealthily swimming in the river trying to creep up on his lunch. He moves quite silently for such a big, powerful cat. 33cms W x 45cms H .'Pom Pom Peonies' Why did I choose this name? Because the centres of the flowers reminded me of the pom poms on our Winter hats (or beanies as we call them here in Australia). I was experimenting with alcohol ink and mixing colours and textures, and this was the outcome. I love the colour, and have been wanting to create a piece which celebrated its vibrancy- I hope you like it. Created in alcohol ink on Yupo paper. Thanks to @insituartroom for the room display
41.8cms W x 29.5cms H - Dewdrops n Dandelions Seeds is my interpretation of the dance of the dandelion seeds as the gentle breeze blows in the early hours of the morning, the dewdrops glistening in the amethyst haze. Their delicate beauty is emphasised by the fine lines of the Watercolour on the dandelion seeds, and Iridescent Watercolour shows the shape of the dewdrops in all their beauty. Created with lots of love and patience on 300 gsm Canson Montval paper. My thanks go to Inspired Images for the photo which triggered my imagination on this journey, and @insituartroom for their room displays
SOLD - 41.8cms H x 29.5cms W. I love poppies and wanted to try and capture their relaxed and casual elegance as they twist and turn to catch the sun. This piece designed tself as I went along - spaces beckoned for more flowers, seed pods and, finally, the butterfly and ladybird - a last minute addition when my heart was telling me something was missing. Each artwork created lets you see my view on the world - the things which draw me in and insist on being painted, and a little part of me stays within each of them
41.8cms W x 29.5cms H Luscious Blossoms This is a vibrant Watercolour of luscious blossoms overflowing the vase in which they sit. Plump and full of life, they vie for the best position, each wanting to show off their glorious splendour and outshine the others.

SOLD - This is a painting of a very ‘Busy Bee,’ gathering pollen as he flits amongst the tendrils of flowers cascading down. Covered in pollen, he doesn’t take a rest, because he knows the future of our planet lies on his shoulders. Without bees such as this one to pollinate the plants our ecosystem would crumble. Sadly our bees our being decimated- primarily by mankind with its pesticides but also with mites and other natural enemies. How can we make a difference? SOLD - 41.8cms W x 29.5cms H. Symphony’. A close up study of a flower with a musical heart. The stamens reach out as if to embrace you, or to lead the orchestra in its performance of a symphony. 41.58cms H x 29.5cms W. 'Vortex' is an experimental piece exploring acrylic inks to create an ‘other worldly’ artwork. 41.8 cms W x 29.5 cms H 'Springtime' -Crocuses are the heralds of Spring - their colourful petals peep through the soil ( or snow if you're in Europe) to let you know that Winter's over and better days are ahead. They stay cocooned in darkness until it's time to push into the daylight knowing Spring's sunshine will follow Winter's darkness. As in life, when even the darkest times pass. Photo inspiration Sue Rickuss. Room Displays @insituartroom. Created in watercolour with special effects created with salt
41.8cms H x 29.5cms W Purple Haze. It seems like an appropriate name for this experimental artwork using calligraphy ink and Chinese black ink. I wanted to see what effect, if any, here would be by adding a drizzle of water to the finished artwork - to my surprise, the ink lifted quite easily to create this hazy soft look. It reminds me of the days when my mind seems less clear and the world less defined. Thanks to @insituartroom for the room displays
32.5 cms W x 43 cms H. Passionionate Purple - Vibrant Blooms. This vibrant artwork was created in acrylic ink on Yupo paper. 29.5cms H x 41.cms W - 'Aurora Borealis ( Northern Lights).' A sky full of colours - blues shot through with greens, aqua and turquoise - this is the Northern Lights. 29.5cms W x 41 cms H. Memories of Monet. This is my homage to Monet, whose paintings I adore. 41.80 X 29.5 Isn't it strange how the night can seem threatening, daunting or glorious depending on where you are physically and emotionally? Too dark and we're fearful, but a spectacular sunset makes us feel at peace with our world, and in awe of Mother Nature. Created in Calligraphy ink and salt. Thanks to @insituartroom for the room displays
29.5 w x 41.8cms H. Spikey Flowers 2This was an experiment using watercolour grounds to give a raised profile on some of the petals. It created a subtle nuance, which was quite effective, and the contrast between the flowers and the background works well. Created in Watercolour on 300 gsm paper. Thanks to @insituartroom for the room displays
41.8H x 29.5Wcms Troubled Waters. These turbulent waters show how little control we have when there's a storm at sea and yet, if we don't panic, we can often ride it out into calmer waters. So too in life where unexpected events disrupt our plans, but we can battle through. This is an experimental piece using calligraphy in on Arches paper. Thanks to @insituartroom for the room displays
41.8cms H x 29.5 cms W. 'Blossoms in the Clouds' These dreamlike flowers seem to almost float away on wisps of clouds, only their centres keeping them attached to the earth. Their youthful colour is strongest in the centre, fading away to the edges of their petals - is it reminiscent of ageing where our beauty changes but doesn't diminish over time? This is an experimental piece using calligraphy ink and watercolour. Thanks to @insituartroom for the room displays

29.5cms W x 42 cms H ‘Nature’s Teardrops.’ How refreshing is it to see raindrops glistening on the flowers after rainfall? The world seems fresh and clean again, and the plants, as well as we humans, seem revitalised. Growing up, we always thought of rainfall as Mother Nature crying, hence the title. This artwork is created in calligraphy ink and watercolour. I hope you like it. Thanks to @insituartroom for the room displays
